Music & Dance

From the stage to the studio, Lorelai pours herself into the performing arts. Whether she's drawing her bow across the strings or perfecting her choreography, her dedication and passion shine through every performance.

Cello & Music

Principal Cellist — Youth Symphony of Kansas City

For the 2025–2026 school year, Lorelai stepped into a remarkable leadership role as Principal Cellist with the Youth Symphony of Kansas City — a testament to both her technical excellence and the trust her peers and directors place in her.

Music Theory & Aural Skills

Beyond the orchestra, Lorelai rounds out her musical life through the study of music theory and aural skills, sharpening her ear and deepening her understanding of the art form. She brings the same rigor to these studies that she brings to her performances.

Summers at Midwestern Music Camp — University of Kansas

Each summer, Lorelai immerses herself in the Midwestern Music Camp at the University of Kansas, where she deepens her craft through an intensive and wide-ranging musical experience. From dedicated cello sections and chamber ensembles to full-scale performances, she thrives in an environment that pushes her to grow alongside talented peers. Her studies there have taken her beyond the classical repertoire — exploring the rich world of movie music and diving into the rhythmic complexity of polyrhythms, expanding both her technical vocabulary and her musical imagination.

A Curious Mind

Lorelai approaches her studies with the same dedication she brings to the performing arts. She is a motivated, intellectually curious student who challenges herself to think critically, ask deep questions, and pursue knowledge beyond the classroom.

Whether tackling a challenging writing assignment, exploring scientific concepts, or working through complex math problems, Lorelai consistently demonstrates the drive and discipline to excel. She is not afraid of a challenge — in fact, she seeks it out. Unwilling to wait for challenge to come to her, Lorelai has taken the initiative to enroll in math and English courses at her local community college — actively seeking a level of academic rigor that is hard to find locally in rural Missouri.

Lorelai's love of learning extends outside the school day. She reads widely, engages in thought-provoking conversations, and approaches every subject as an opportunity to grow. Her teachers recognize her as a student who is both conscientious and a genuine contributor to classroom discussion.

Her academic abilities have been formally recognized through Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development, a prestigious program that identifies and nurtures exceptionally gifted young learners. Lorelai earned a composite score of 32 on the ACT — a remarkable achievement that places her among the highest-performing students in the country for her age group. She was also honored with Liberty Public Schools' Award for Personal Initiative in 2024, a recognition of her drive, self-motivation, and commitment to going above and beyond in everything she pursues.

Giving Back

Lorelai has a genuine heart for service — one that shows up quietly and consistently, week after week. At her church, she volunteers with the kids' ministry, assisting with activities and helping lead lessons for younger children. Her warmth and patience make her a natural fit, and the relationships she's built with those kids reflect just how much she invests in others.

That same spirit carries into her work at the local food pantry, where she helps sort donations, stock shelves, and serve families in need. For Lorelai, it's never just a task to check off — it's a reminder that small acts of showing up can make a real difference in someone's day.
